The high tensile strength of martensitic stainless steel, with excellent toughness, allows for increased product strength, mass reduction and improved durability. Unique to MSS post-formed, then hardened structures, as compared to work-hardened materials, KVA STAINLESS™ hardening heat treatment "erases" all prior deformation history. This "resets" the microstructure, enabling very high strengths with improved ductility.
